[comp.os.minix] BEGGINNER INFO....

Hi there Minix people:

I was just wondering if there was any sort of
document/file/knowledgable person that might be able to supply
information on the changes/fixes/improvements that have occurred in
Minix in the last few years. I picked up the book when it first came
out, but never got around to ordering the software. And, in the
process of normal wear and tear, have not managed to stay current on
what has been happening. I'm interested in getting in playing with it
at this point, but suffer some apprehension concerning how to start.

Also, if I do start playing with it, it would be on a 386 class
machine, hopefully in February (when I can afford it :-). Is there any
support at this time for the 386 protected mode, and if not, is there
any problem with running it under the 386 otherwise. Also, is there a
list of currently acceptable hardware peripherals (hard disk, video,
mice, keyboards, etc).

I know I'm asking a lot, but I would appreciate any pointers. Thanks
in advance.
