Has any one been sucessful running minix on an ibm ps/2 model 25? A M25 is an 8086 ibm xt compatible, with an xt bus. I have 2 720k 3.5" floppy drives, which is why I've held off in the past. It seems that minix comes on 5.25" floppies, and I guess that I can't use MS/DOS to copy them. If I can, then I'd give it a shot. Thanks! bruce bruce@well.uucp

I cannot say about the details of the model 25, but moving Minix to 3.5" floppies should not be a big problem. I have an AT clone which boots from a 3.5". Simply write a sector-by-sector copy to read from the 5.25 and write to the 3.5. Format the 3.5 beforehand on MSDOS. Do not write anything on each track after the 5.25 data runs out, and do not write on any tracks after the 5.25 data runs out. Turbo-C or similar packages include functions to read and write absolute disk sectors. -- Kevin Kleinfelter @ Management Science America, Inc (404) 239-2347 gatech!nanovx!msa3b!kevin
