[comp.os.minix] Minix for the Mac

stuartb@microsoft.UUCP (Stuart Burden) (11/29/89)

I would like to ask the authors of the original posting re: Mac Minix,
to post a summary of thier poll. I for one replied that I would like
to see Mac minix released, and am most interested in getting some idea
of whether this will in fact occur, and in what time frame.

Thanks.

Stu.

Thanks to the many of you that took the time to respond to our note.
We received a very promising number of responses, and we will pass
these, as well as your comments, along to the publisher. They will
hopefully do the trick, and we will try to let you know their decision
as soon as we possibly can.

To those of you who offered to review MacMINIX, these offers will also
be passed along to the publisher, who will select a subset of them and
contact you directly.

There were also a fair number of questions that accompanied your
responses. Due to the volume, however, it will take some time to paw
through them. Please be patient and we will try to answer them all.

I am back. I talked to my editor at P-H about MINIX for the Macintosh and
Amiga. They are going to have external reviewers look at this stuff, but
barring something unusual, they will publish both of them.
It may take half a year however. I'll post more as I learn more.

This is great news! Look forward to seeing the Mac release. Do you know
if P-H will be taking advance orders and when?
