Hi, Having had some success with kermit ( some ), I have tried to connect it to a Sun 3/50 via /dev/tty2 ( on minix ). When I set the options, and connect, I just get a load a characters and bleeps on the screen and eventually, the old Can't send character message. There is a getty running on the Sun and the port is OK on my Bull 200 ( PC ). I have set the parity, and other stuff to the correct values but it still won't play. Do I need to specify the number of tty ports required to the kernel and recompile? I already have a line plugged into tty1 which works OK ( except for not being able to wake up the terminal server properly because it won't recognise when I issue a BREAK character "CTRL-b", but I think I can fix that with a lot of time! ). I noticed somewhere in the source that there is a value which says maximum number of terminals in the book but this is a bit different in the source code listing in the distribution and rather than go to all the trouble of trying it to find that it doesn't work, I thought I would ask some kind soul for a hint as to whether I'm going in the right direction or not.
