Several months ago Andy posted a new version of man1 so that all the lines were 79 characters long instead of 80. That way, anyone who used line wrap could still read the manual pages. I would like to suggest two changes to keep with this spirit. The first one is pr.c, the default width (DEF_WIDTH) is set to 72. Many source code files assume that the width will be about 80. This makes printouts using pr(1) a pain to read. How about upping the width to 79? The second program is whatsnew.c. Here the default width is 80 causing the same problems as man(1) use to have. Could these programs be changed to a default width of 79 in future versions of MINIX? Jim Stuhlmacher j.stuhlmacher@att.com ..!att!ihlpb!jims
