Hi,
As I want to start on MINIX I have some questions.
I am posting this to the net as I think more people will have this problem!
My hardware is:
Computer:............Philips AT-compatible P3204 with 640kbyte RAM
Hard disk:...........Miniscribe 8425 20Mbyte (10Mb partition for MSDOS)
Floppy drives:.......a: Panasonic 1.44Mbyte 3.5" floppy drive
.......b: ......... 360kbyte 5.25" floppy drive
AST told me that 1.5 will be available in this summer and that
I need a MINIX AT-version for my AT-compatible because of the linked in
hard disk driver.
And now for the questions:
1. Will 1.5 be delivered on 3.5" diskettes or does it have
at least 3.5" 1.44M support?
2. If not so, does anyone has a workable solution for me to
use my 3.5" drive as boot-drive? Maybe with the already
obtainable 1.3 ?
3. Am I allowed to copy a workable system that works with
a 3.5" 1.44M a: drive from someone if I have bought a
legitimate MINIX version?
4. Or do I have to get a 5.25" 1.2M drive and some cable
adapters to provide my system with a 5.25" 1.2M a: drive?
