I've seen several news articles which imply that the beta testers of Minix somehow have goodies other than those distributed to the net by ast. Well, let me expose the truth, shocking as it may be... the only difference between what we got and what you guys get is that some bugs generally get fixed in your version that was found in ours. What we DO have is (a) a fairly small group which communicates problems well, and (b) more or less direct access to the gurus who wrote a lot of this stuff (Bruce Evans, Frans-the-ST-Man) and some very talented people who put a lot of volunteer time into debugging code. If it is any consolation, most of us are having the same problems keeping up with the multitude of 1.5.x changes as everyone else. I don't know of ANY beta-tester who has a complete 1.5.5 system at this point ("complete " being defined as all crc's check with the distributed crc lists). John Nall --
