I've posted this before, but gotten no responses. I'm planning to finally retire my old XT, and replace it with a 386SX. But, I want to figure out how to move my MINIX (1.2) files to the new machine. I have a 386 at work, so I built a new boot disk (360K) with the AT wini driver installed, and tried to bring MINIX up on the 1.2M floppy on the 386. It booted to fsck fine, but when I try to load the root file system, it just loops showing the sizes of the OS, ram disk, etc. Is it possible to make a 360K boot disk that will boot in a 1.2M AT or 386, and what is necessary? If not, how do I go about trading my XT kit for an AT kit? Or getting an AT boot disk? Also, I want to put either an IDE or an RLL Hard Disk in the new machine. Are these compatible with MINIX? What patches if any will I need? Thanks a bunch for all your help. -Scott
