minix@plains.nodak.edu (Info-Minix Maintenance) (03/28/90)
We are planning some changes to the Minix mailing list configuration at vm1.nodak.edu, to take place Wednesday or Thursday. This change should be transparent to readers of comp.os.minix. We will be changing the "Sender:" field of all mail sent out so that it points to info-minix-errors@plains.nodak.edu rather than back to minix-l@vm1.nodak.edu. This change should tell all (correctly working) non-smtp (i.e. non-internet) mailers to send errors to ME, and not the redistribution list or the poster. Normally Listserv directs all rejections back to the list, where they should be trapped by the Listserv before redistribution. Unfortunately (as mailing list subscribers, particularly in Europe, have seen in the past several weeks) this is not always so. I am not certain if this change will be reflected across the other two listervs (Finland and Germany). If your mail reader shows you the Sender: field rather than the From: field on new mail, you will see it change from minix-l@somewhere to info-minix-errors@plains. If you have any comments, questions or misc. personal abuse, please direct it to me at one of the following addresses. Thanks, Glen Overby info-minix List Maintainer <minix@plains.nodak.edu> uunet!plains!minix (UUCP) minix@plains (Bitnet)
