SHARKEY@osu-20.ircc.ohio-state.edu (Scott A. Sharkey) (03/30/90)
I've posted three times before, with only one response, which did not solve my problem. I'm upgrading my XT to a 386SX, and need to figure out how to make a bootable 1.2MB floppy system, or trade in the XT disks for the AT version, or something. I've tried making a 360K bootable floppy with the AT wini driver, but when I do that it seems to boot OK, to the fsck menu. But when I hit = to read the root disk, it goes into a loop displaying the memory size, ram disk size, kernel size, and available free memory. Using F1, I can determine that INIT is the last thing to run, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Is it possibly a problem with the XT root disk? Like missing some important file? Or what? ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Is there anyone in the Columbus, Ohio area with the AT version of MINIX who might be willing to help? Thanks. =-Scott
