Just got through compiling all the commands for 1.2 (I think I finally got the library right) and tried to compile the new shell and ran into just the problem I was afraid of, I need the new version of asld. The shell needs the -i switch for separate I and D sections and the one I have (version 1.1's) can't do that. How was the compiler upgrade handled originally? I have messages from archives that say that AST was sending out the new asld uuencoded but I don't have the uuencoded file that is the new asld. Also were the other passes of the C compiler (cg,cem, opt, cpp) distributed too? The last mention of the compiler is that it is available from the university it came from but it cost more that Minix itself. That seems a little excessive to me. The compiler parts the are at vm1.nodak.edu seem to be the same version as what I have but they are different sizes from the ones I have. Anybody have any idea what they are? If someone could send me the uuencoded parts that go with 1.2 I would really appreciate it.
