[comp.os.minix] Finally done it ...

Yeah!

It's 2:36 AM and I have finally installed Minix on my harddisk.
I have installed /usr as hd2 and the rootfilesys as hd3 as stated in
the USER_GUIDE file.

I hope 18 MB will be enough on /usr.

Now I have two questions:

After booting the RAMDISK device mounted as / conatining /bin, /lib, ...
has only ONE inode left. That means I can't do much in /tmp.
How can I solve that problem?

Second, is it possible to boot directly from harddisk? He,he now we come
to my beloved question. I would like to boot DOS and Minix, that means
I need a program that lets me deceide at startup if I like to boot DOS
or Minix. I've heard a program called shoelace does that. Is this correct?

Please reply via mail, if interest I post a summarize.
