Distribution: World After attempting to upgrade Minix over the last two week-ends from 1.3PH, I had found that I am missing just a couple of files!!! (Wow! That's pretty darn good considering past experience... :-) If some kind soul would send me uname.* (lib), mined1.c.cdif (mined), and the output from "ar t /usr/lib/libc.a" that they have for their working 1.5.10, I would become a very happy camper. BTW, the mined1.c.cdif that I got in the upgrade kit was there, but patch choked on it. Also, with one program (even forgot the name), I had to remove some of the files on my ram disk to give patch enough room to work (even though the ramdisk was 384K in extended... I had to leave about 300K to get the patch to install). To save myself quite a bit of agony, (on my 40 meg) I... 1. copied all of the upgrades into my /user/Archive/Updates directory, 2. moved /usr/src to /usr/src_1.3, /usr/include to /usr/include_1.3, and /usr/lib to /usr/lib_1.3, 3. mkdir /usr/src, ... 4. cd /usr/src_1.3/minix 5. for i in * ; do cpdir $i /usr/src/$i ; done, etc. (copied all the 1.3PH sources back into the new directory structure) Boy, was I glad I had taken the extra step to "back-up" before the upgrade. Even though I have all the original installation disks current for the upgrade, it would have been a real pain in the rear if I would have had to unpack that one source because I accidently did something wrong.
