Hello *, I have a Toshiba t3100 (thus 80286) en recently a t3200sx (thus 80386sx) to run minix on. In both cases the 1.5.0 comes up in protected mode and all is well. In both cases 1.5.3 and higher comes up in real mode and does not understand the 1000 kB RAM (it only find 656 for some reason) It runs fine in real mode, though, so at first I was bothered, but I need the user space RAM to run more processes (look who is getting spoiled). I found similar behaviour on other machines, too. The Question: What happened to protected mode detection in the inbetween versions 1.5.[123] and how can I change it back again or how can I improve it to understand my 80286 and 80386? ps. This site happens to have quite some mailing problems. I will acknowledge each reply you'll sent me. If you don not get such a reply consider the mail lost and post it (the topic is interesting enough).
