I applied Gordon Irlam's 1.0 Virtual Console Patches to the 1.5.10 kernel. Followed the instructions, all the crcs checked out and made the new boot image. First off I couldn't get init to read the ttys file with character strings for the tty names. Changed to just the number and rebooted. I get "login:" on the four virtual consoles and I can cycle through each one. The problem though is that I cannot get logged in on any of the v-consoles. I get no character echos, nothing.... I'm running Minix 1.5.10 on a 386SX, with 4 Meg memory: half dedicated to the ram disk and the rest for process memory. Minix comes up in protected mode.
