chris@suncan.Central.Sun.COM (Chris Antkow - Programmer/Summer) (08/16/90)
Hi! I'm new to UNIX and all of this "UNIX on MS-DOS Boxes" and stuff. Over lunch one day, an assossiate and I discussed where I can get a UNIX type language on my MS-DOS PC at home. He directed me to COMP.OS.MINIX. Now, unfortunately, I will lose all contact with UNIX as my position with SUN is just a summer student programmer. I'd hate to give up UNIX, so I was wondering if you good folks out there could help me aquire the latest version of the MINIX source codes as well as help me out in partitioning my harddrive for MS-DOS and MINIX. I run an Intel 80386 chip with VGA and an 80 megger hard-drive. I have access to any compiler I need (Preferrably Assembler, C or Pascal). Also if possible, would someone be so kind as to direct me to a (?) public UNIX system here in Toronto that I can get access to? Prefferably Usenet, Internet, or Tymenet. HELP! I only have until August 24th until the plug get's pulled. I'd really hate to lose my UNIX experience, and I'd love to keep in contact with various UNIX networks. Your prompt response would make me extremely happy??? Thanx guys... - Chris
