In the two months I have been reading this newsgroup I have seen a hell of a lot of source go through the pipes, I wonder if anyone would be prepared to tell me how I can go about getting some of it as I am soon to be getting v1.3 of Minix for the PC (XT with a 10 meg HD). I am a student and am trying to get a better grasp of these things, so I would like as little hassle with the init- ial set-up as possible so as to get a better go at it once things are okay. It seems many bugs have been fixed in v1.3 since I have been reading, with the addition of bios_wini.c it would appear I have a lot to catch up on. Are there any sites near me who I could contact in relation to what I would hope is a fairly complete Minix update/software archive, who would also be prepared to explain how to go about getting the stuff here (munnari)? I know this seems a little sortof insignifiacant, but I have to get a grip in somewhere.... Anyway, thanks in advance, Paul Muller Oh, also, is their anyone out there who has kept track of all the published Minix updates and bugs? I suppose Andy would, but if not, anyone else? again, bye, Paul Muller (muller@munnari.oz.au(i think..(can't remember domain...)))

I am in need of info on Minix. I have virtually no information on it. All I know is it's $80 and you have to customize to your system. Any info will be appreciated. Please reply via email and I will post a summary if anyone is interested... There is a very large sheepish grin on my face at the moment :-) I was informed almost immediately that Glen Overby posts exactly the kind of information I was looking for, and was sent a copy. It looks like just what I wanted. (I really have been reading this group for more than a month, looking for just such a post. I don't know how I missed it.)
