[comp.os.minix] Collected MINIX-related net software on disk

ghelmer@dsuvax.uucp (Guy Helmer) (08/23/90)

Since 1.5 stabilized, I have been keeping most sources and patches that
go by on the net. I have recently been putting it in some sort of
order, and now I have lots of stuff tar'ed and compressed -b13
into nice little packages.

In the interest of helping those that don't have good access to the
net or don't have the time or equipment to track the sources
(a group of which I used to belong to), I am
planning on offering these sources on PC format 360K 5.25" disks
at a cost of four dollars per disk. I will send disks as either
DOS or MINIX filesystems, and I will attempt to pack as much onto
each disk as possible. THIS IS NOT AN OFFER (yet)! I am attempting
to gauge net.interest and decide how to proceed.

This is not a grand money-making scheme on my part. I've put a little
effort into putting this together, and I'll be putting in a lot
more effort making diskettes that people request.
My time is worth a lot more than the money I'll get from this, IMHO.

If you are an author of something listed below and don't wish
your software to be included in this offer (and I hope everyone on
the net is good enough to allow their software to be included)
I will remove it.

Presently, the archives are source-only. I maybe will make
installable packages with binaries available, but maybe I won't.

If you find something in this posting interesting or objectionable,
please mail me - address dsuvax!ghelmer@cs.utexas.edu or uunet!dsuvax!ghelmer
should work fine. My purpose in doing this is to help the Minix user
community; I will do what I can to please as many as possible.
