Hi there MINIX people.. I have an old, ca 1982 IBM PC (with a cassette port, yet) that I'm trying to resurrect to run MINIX. Problem is that it won't boot... I have a Seagate ST238 installed in place of one of the twice- height floppy drives, and as soon as I get past the bios message from the hd controller and the system tries to boot off the MINIX floppy, the machine goes right into the BASIC interpreter. Bummer. It *does*, however, boot off my Mitsuba AT clone and works just fine. My suspicion is that the BIOS on the motherboard of the PC is just too old to know what to do with the boot track on the MINIX system disk. Has anyone else had this same problem, and can you offer possible solutions? I know I'll get it figured out sooner or later... it may just take buying a new BIOS or one of those $25 motherboards.
