Any help and advice would be Why don't you consider a TMS34020 graphics computer with 16 bits per pixel. It could even be faster than a 68020 + 34020 for normal graphic operations because of communication overhead through standard busses and difficulty of writing efficient multiprocessor software. You don't need 24 bit per pixel to get full resolution and colour. You can get the same quality result with 8 bit luminance full resolution and 8 bit colour differences at half resolution. Availability of software is ensured through C source Unix compatibility. Binary graphic compatibility would be hard even with 68020 unless you use the same I/O and graphic co-processor, of the source sortware. I'm trying to start this project but still waiting for financial support. Any comments would be welcomed.
