I have a problem, any advice gratefully received. I've been running ST MINIX 1.5.10.2 on a 2Mb STE very successfully (apart from the known bug where the wini stack impinges on the printer stack and screws up the lpr command ... thanks for the patch Frans). However, wanting to run GCC efficiently on my machine, I've just added another 2Mb of memory giving 4Mb in all. The memory is OK, I've run loads of diagnostics. Everything works beautifully EXCEPT MINIX. It boots up OK, shows the correct amount of memory, lets me logon and type a FEW commands. However, if I do e.g. two consecutive ls -l commands the files are listed but the 'total of n files' message scrolls up the screen ad infinitum, if I do e.g. a ps command it gets half way down the list and then the line printed last scrolls infinitely. In all cases the only cure is the reset button. What is going on? Have I been bitten by the compiler bug? I don't relish the thought of ripping out SIMM modules every time I want to run MINIX.
