Date: Wed Sep 8 21:51:49 1982 GAG ME WITH A SPOON!! When all the net traffic went on about problems with the VAX-11/750 and uucp, I blew them away because I was running a lowly 780 (4.1bsd) and had no need for the info. Now we're getting a 750 and I REALLY need to know the problems with it. I've seen bita and pieces of problems like new memory (Berkeley, do you have a fix on the memory controller for it??) and ucode bugs? Are these really problems? Can someone provide me with a comprehensive list of problems and where they may be solved? (Although I hate to reintroduce net trafic on the same subject. Also, since we now have a 780 and a 750, I want to connect them via uucp. (If anyone can provide me with the missing berknet installation instructions, like how to set up .initfile, etc ., I may also consider that in addition.) The computers (both will be running 4.1) are far apart and connected via a MICOM 600 Port Selector. How do I make uucp handle that etra layer of connection detail? I know there were messages on how to do that, but I removed them at the time. The MICOM needs some delays at times, so can I do that with UUCP? Unless you feel that the wizards community needs another dose of this (remember chown, \r\n, system III boot, and on and on and on), it might be nice to leave off the cc: unix-wizards. Thanx in advance. HELP Please respond!!!!! -- Steve Kramer MITRE Corp.
