I have just bought Minix v1.5, and have a few questions. If these are silly, or are answered in FAQ, please mail me a copy. 1) Is there a Minix/386 in the pipeline? The documentation specifically says _not_ to define 80386 when building the OS, as this is reserved. 2) Is there any way to get Minix to boot directly off the hard disk? So far, I have installed it on /dev/hd2, but must boot from floppy to get anything to happen. If I make /dev/hd2 active, the masterboot gives me an ``OS Missing'' error. Will I have to live with floppy boots, or is there another way? The disk _must_ have DOS aswell (so that I can eat :-() 3) Has anyone ported UUCP, news & mail software to Minix (yet)? if not, and I can get Minix to boot by itself, I suppose that I will have to.
