(Sorry to ask such basic questions here, but if you don't ask, you won't know!) I have before me a licensed version 1.1 of MINIX, which has gone unused for some time. Now we would like to use it in some research projects, and an upgrade to 1.5 seems in order. My question is this: is there some resource that would allow us to ftp the updates to our IBM 1.1, or will it be necessary to pay $100 (approx.) to upgrade from PH. If ftp upgrades are available, which is the most complete site to connect to? Thanks- +---- Robert E. Yesterday I went through the archive server located at Plains and found some interesting stuff. I asked for these files and this morning they were in my mailbox. I have managed to UUDECODE the files but the version of Compress that was sent to me needs a header file that is not currently present in Minix 1.2 (fcntl.h). I would really appreciate if someone would help me ? Here are some questions?? - The only thing I need in order to get a suitable version is to get the fcntl.h file ? - Is there an older Compress Version that will run under Minix (version 1.2) and where is it located ?
