[comp.os.minix] Passwd problems in Minix 1.5

   Greetings:

   I have Prentice-Hall Minix 1.5 installed on an AT&T 6386 WGS
   (20Mhz) system.  The problem I have is with changing the password.
   Logged in as "ast", I attempted to change the password. The ast
   password remained unchanged, however the password field in the
   entry for root in /etc/passwd was modified, assigning the new
   password to root.
   I setup a new login "nhc".  Logged in as nhc and attempted to assign
   a password.  This password was again assigned to root, while the "nhc"
   password field in /etc/passwd remained null.  Has this problem been 
   experienced by anyone else?
