Hello, can someone tell me where to get the upgrade-kit from Minix ST 1.1 to Minix ST 1.5 ? -- >-----------------------------------------------------------------------------< > Name : Thomas Humburg Org : Universitaet Oldenburg < > Status : Student (CS) < > Town : 2900 Oldenburg < > Street : Johann Justus Weg 136/2-41 < > State : Germany Net Adresses: < > 158625@DOLUNI1.bitnet < > thumburg@uniol.uucp < >-----------------------------------------------------------------------------<

I received MINIX 1.5 for the Atari ST yesterday and I already got some questions: 1.) I'm not able to start MINIX from TOS by using minix.prg. I builded the file minix.img by using rflop.prg in the following way: rflop a: c:\minix.img 100000 inserting the BOOT-disk 01 when asked for. When I start minix.prg (also on c:\) it breaks with the message: minix.img: wrong format MINIX boots from the BOOT-disk without any problem. 2.) Is it possible to use MINIX ST without RAM-disk, having the ROOT-filesystem on harddisk. I've only one partition left for MINIX, hence I can't use the proposed configuration (two partitions, a small one for the ROOT and a big one for \usr) ? 3.) Running the /etc/setup_usr script the errormessage sed: cannot execute occured three times. Now it seems like all archieves are not unpacked. What does the message mean? What to do now ? I would be very glad, if somebody could answer these silly questions !! e-mail: mcvax!unido!tub!pac!holger snail mail: holger@pac.uucp Holger Lesch holger%pac%tub.BITNET@MITVMA.MIT.EDU PAC Technology GmbH Kurfuerstenstr. 112 fax: +49 30 213 91 55 D-1000 Berlin 30 phone: +49 30 213 92 00 Federal Republic of Germany txl: 0505 990080 pac-h SO New adress from december 1990: Fritschestr. 27-28 fax: +49 30 341 07 99 D-1000 Berlin 10 phone: +49 30 342 00 31 -- e-mail: mcvax!unido!tub!pac!holger snail mail: holger@pac.uucp Holger Lesch holger%pac%tub.BITNET@MITVMA.MIT.EDU PAC Technology GmbH Kurfuerstenstr. 112
