Random thoughts about the 11/730: It's pretty slow (1/2 a 750 == a half-fast VAX). The IDC disk controller stuff looks like a DEC orphan-- it doesn't expand from the fixed RL02-on-top, R80-on-bottom (the R80 is not the same size (121MB) as the RM80 (124MB)-- for a few more $ the UDA (or foreign stuff) is probably better. The IDC driver I have seems to require that the RL02 be drive 0 (switch plugs and the system won't boot)--does anyone have a better /sys/dev/idc.c? Certain kinds of U-bus cards won't fit in the 730 mounting box (like DZs--probably an edge connector problem (I haven't looked)).
