I will be taking a class next quarter at a local university. We will be programming using an ANSI C compiler. I understand that one is being beta tested/refereed for Minix. I wonder if there is any way I could get into the beta test/referee loop for this? I'm willing to do whatever is needed to stress the compiler. Also, I would like to get news up and running on my home system. I currently have a modified version of the UUCP (mostly just simple bug fixes). I've tried sending mail to mugnet, but we have had some mailer problems of late and responses may have bounced. Again I'm willing to do whatever stress testing/whatever is required. I have also done some playing around with the SVC source control software supplied with Minix. I've created a new program (svc) that will list and do simple modifications to an SVC file (only lock/unlock as of now). I've combined this with a shell script and a bawk script to generate a stupid release file that can be used to generate/recreate a specific release of (source-controlled) software. I've also added some enhancements to ci and co (mostly to handle multiple files, nothing really earth shattering). Once I'm reasonably satisfied with these what should I do with them? Post them? Submit to the referees? Thanks in advance. -- Thomas V.
