[comp.os.minix] SCSI drives under 1.5

mike.irons@lynx.northeastern.edu (11/18/90)

I regards to the posting by Remy CARD, you can't use a Seagate SCSI
Host adapter with Minix outside of BIOS_wini. I got the specs from Seagate
when I was working on my SCNCSI driver. They seem to run there drive from a
sort of micro-code sjstore located on the board. There was no way of getting
them to release the port specs for what is labled as a propriatary chip on
the board.

I wwill be putting my SCSI driver on plains.nodak.edu in the
pub/Minix/ftp_contrib file soon. Right now all I have available on the machine
I do FTP from is the first working version. If I can't get a better version
onto dworkin (aka flora) I'll put that one on plains. That way anyone who
wants can get ity, but if you don't want it, you won't get it.
