I got MacMinix a couple days ago. I have a Mac+ with 2.5M ram, 30M hard disk. I did Joe's 10 easy steps to the letter. Step 5 is where everything fell apart. I type: /etc/setup_usr /dev/hd1 I wait and then it tried to copy directories. But, it says: 'cpdir not found.' Then it tries to do more. It tries to unpack the floppys. The messages read 'rm: *.Z not found' and 'rm: *.a not found'. After this shell ends, I get the root prompt back and guess what.. nothing works. Nothing was unpacked, and I got no messages to 'insert each disk as requested'. I did the same exercise with the new boot exec posted a while ago. Same results. What in the hell is going on? What am I doing wrong? Please, if you have any experience doing this on a Mac+, enlighten me. I'd like to get past step 5 by the end of the week :). Has anyone got MacMinix working on a Mac+? Care to share the details with me via email?
