I will be teaching a course on Operating Systems spring 91 and am using Tanenbaum's OS text and Minix 1.5 on IBM PS70s. The last time I taught the course we were using 1.3 on floppies. I am looking forward to things being much more manageable now with the PS70s and a 20-something MINIX partition. I am interested in communicating with others who have taught a course using Minix or are planning to do so. I would like to hear about project ideas that worked, ones that didn't, what you did right, what you would do differently and so on. The machines we are using are already connected to an ethernet which connects them to a decnet fileserver under dos so one thought is to try to hook minix up to the ethernet so the minix machines can talk to each other. I would like to hear from anyone who has tried anything like that. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Ron McCarty Penn State Behrend Erie, PA 16563 (814) 825-3678
