I'm using MINIX 1.5 (the PH distribution straight out of the wrapper) on a fast 286 machine with an HP DESKJET 500 printer. When using the printer I have problems with the machine re-setting and rebooting (despite being in protected mode). The problem only happens when I print files that are larger than the internal buffer on the Deskjet (16k). I've examined the relevant part of the kernel and can't see any obvious problems. If I add a few printf()s in the printer driver to let me know what its upto (eg when it hits a busy condition) everything is Ok. Anyone met this or got any suggestions?
