[comp.os.minix] Unresolved refs compiling Elvis 1.4

When I try to compile Elvis 1.4 on my Minix-PC 1.3, I get the
following:
     unresolved references:
       _strchr
       __io_tab
     make: Error code 256
Is this a problem with older Minix? Or is something setup incorrectly
on my system?
