hello.
i am looking for people who have minix v1.5.10 running on true blue
ibm ps/2 models 30 (8086), 50z and the 55sx.
the model 30 ran minix v1.3 flawlessly. i patched together v1.5.10
however after the initial keyboard configuration menu, if i touch any
key the system will lock. i can execute programs from the /etc/rc file
to mount file systems, list directories and things like that. i have tried
(literally) evey key on the keyboard; the system hangs (as far as i can tell).
i purchased the ph v1.5 thinking that i screwed up the patch. the same
problem occurs.
the 50z has an esdi drive. i have tried to boot with the pc and at boot
disks, as a recent posting suggested that it would work, however minix
either complained about the drive or failed the hd test mentioned in the
ph manual. the (dreaded) universal boot disk works. if somebody can
tell me where i can get info on the esdi drives, or if somebody has a
driver built i'd appreciate any help.
the 55sx (also an esdi drive): when using the universal boot disk
the a: drive is ignored completely. this machine has a partitioned hd with
DOS installed. this only occurs when using the universal boot disk, the
others either complain about the drive or fail the dd if= .... test mentioned
in the ph manual.
(as usual) any help is appreciated.
