[comp.os.minix] macminix and ps

smz@tove.cs.umd.edu (Zakar) (01/23/91)

Sorry about bringing up an old issue, but I'm still having trouble bringing up ps under macminix. I applied the patches to ps.c, memory.c, and a.out.h. I recompiled ps, kernel, fs, and mm. I ran ps -U and got nothing but the column headers. This is true for all subsequent executions of ps. Typing ps -axl (apparently) causes garbage to come out after the column headers. I'm using the new macboot that was posted rather than recompiling it from scratch. The file ps.c says that kernel, fs, and mm m

ust have symbol tables. The nm command says that fs and mm have symbol tables but it can't read the kernel's symbol table. Is this why I'm getting garbage? I would appreciate help from anyone who has gotten ps to run under macminix.

Thanks,
