There is a function called "cast" in local.c in the VAX sys-
tem III PCC. This function is never called. If it was, it would
do the same thing as the YACC rules in cgram.y. Was this routine
written as an exercise in C coding or was it intended to replace
the YACC specs to obtain a greater portability?
I would like to hear from anyone who might be able to shed
some light on this for me. The same routine can be found in the
DEC source for the PCC. I am changing the YACC specs to call
this routine because of a quirk(kludge) on the machine I'm port-
ing to.
