[comp.os.minix] Floppy problems, communication programs

Hi,

     I received Minix 1.5.10 three weeks ago, and I got Minix386, 
shoelace  and virtual console set up.  Now I have  the  following 
problems:

     1.   Everything works fine except the floppy drives.  I have 
          a  1.2M and a 1.44M drive.  The machine  resets  itself 
          (not  int  19h, but jmp ffff:0000) when  accessing  the 
          drives.   It  happens frequently but not  always.   The 
          original Minix doesn't have any problems.  Does anybody 
          have any idea about the problem?

     2.   Does anybody know any communication programs ported  to 
          Minix?   I downloaded pcomm but it seems to  work  only 
          with  SysV  and  BSD.  If there  are  no  communication 
          programs available, I may try to port pcomm to Minix if 
          time permits.
