Several questions re: MacMinix... (1) When I try the 'ps' command, it bombs with a 'Cannot read kernal name- list: File does not exist' or something like that. What do I do to remedy this? (2) How can I use my printer port as the output for '/dev/lp' and 'lpr' (the prnter drivers)? also how do I use my modem port as a dial-in line so that I can callin from remote? (3) Has anyone gotten the following programs compiled and running under MacMinix? bash (a GNU shell) gnuchess gnugo -- two games (chess and go) Any help as to porting these to Minix (is it possible? how can it be done? etc.) greatly appreciated. Please mail all replies to gousha@ocf.Berkeley.edu, thanks.

Greetings. I have a few questions about MacMinix. Please email all replies to me, and I'll post a summary of them. (1) How can you use the serial ports in Minix? I.e. I want to use the Printer port as an output for "lpr" and "/dev/lp" and other such printer things. I'd like to use the modem hooked to my modem port as both a dial-out (terminal) and dial-in (login) line, so I can call out to other Unix systems through Minix, and call in from other computers. How can I do this? (2) Is there a local system messages (e.g. "msgs") command available for Minix? Where are it's sources? (3) Is it possible to get uucp and/or News running on minix? Where are the sources for it? How can I get it running? etc. (4) Are there any Minix-ready shells available (i.e little or no patches necessary)? Where are they (i.e. which ftp?) Please mail replies to gousha@cory.Berkeley.edu, thanks.
