Date: 8 Oct 1982 15:58:55-EDT Many VDH sites on the Arpanet are currently worrying about how to interface IP/TCP packages to a VDH connection. It seems that all the people that are developing these packages are all LH or DH. Needless to say there are some sites that aren't and we are currently scrambling for a solution. This has recently caused me to ask "What's the point?". After all, VDH just insures that messages passed between IMP and host are reliable. But Internet datagrams are un-reliable anyway so it goes to waste. I suppose one could make efficency claims but there are alot of us out here that would like to throw the VDH layer out the window. Any comments? -lee
