I have an NEC Mulit-Speed HD laptop, which has some type of translating HD controller. I am concerned about whether or not MINIX would work properly. I got a copy of the demo, and was able to boot it (from floppy), create a filesystem on my HD, but could not boot from the hard drive. Is the demo restricted to booting from floppyor should I have been able to boot from my hard drive? Since I was able to make a filesystem on my hard drive, does this necessarily mean that if I bought the MINIX package, that I would be able to boot from the hard drive? (I did also copy the files from the ram disk to the filesystem on the hard disk). Thanks!
