Does anyone know of plans to produce a cc running under Minix that will support large code models for the 286? Is there any plans for similar support for the 386 (being easier)? I understand that the ACK C compiler does but it is a cross compiler and runs under Unix. The downloading of binary files to Minix might become a bit of a pain, especially if you don't have access to ACK, or Unix. If such a compiler is produce it would open up good chunks of free software for porting. Maybe gcc would be better?! I understand that Coherent will be producing a large model compiler for a release later in the year. Since I am still thinking about Minix vs Coherent, Coherent might be the way to go?
