I've gotten from plains.nodak.edu the gcc executables and libraries (.../Minix/mincen/68k/gcc/bin and most of the stuff in /lib). I've even placed gcc in /usr/gnu/bin and the rest in /usr/gnu/lib. All to no avail. I get a message: gcc: installation problem, cannot exec /usr/gnu/lib/gcc-cpp: No more processes and then clam prompt. I checked the sizes of these beasts (lib/gcc-*), and they are huge! gcc-cc1 wants a total of 1.6MB! Well, my poor Mac 128K -> 512K -> 512E + 1.5 MB (~ 2MB MacPlus) can't deal with a process which wants 1.6MB of memory to run. No way, no how. I tried putting them on a diet and I got through cpp, but cc1 (the hog) gave the same error message. Is there anything else I can do? (Short of buying more memory :-) -- Vladimir -- ============================================================================== Vladimir G.
