I remember reading an article in which another Minix user was experiencing the same problem I have, but I have not been able to find either the original article, or a follow-up with a solution. If there was a solution and I missed it, I apologize for the redundancy. The problem is this: If, when using elvis, I press the ESC key from command mode, the editor dies after about a 1-2 second delay. The screen is not cleared, and the words "Alarm Clock" are printed followed on the next line (below where the cursor was when elvis died) by my shell prompt. However, no input is taken, the system is locked. If this is not bad enough, once I get the system going again, I can't re-edit the file with elvis, it errs out with "<file> is busy" message. If any Minix wizzards out there can tell me how to fix the problem, or at least how to renable editing of these files, please mail a solution to me, I would appreciate it and will post a summary...
