A driver exists; it was written by Bill Shannon when he was at decvax. You will get it with 4.2bsd. You can get it now if you get the latest 4.1bsd tape from Berkeley. You can get it from me otherwise (we're on a VAX780; don't use it, and I don't promise to have the latest, most bug-free version). It works "sort of"; the TU58 is just too fast and runs without any flow control. You can only use it when running in single-user mode. - Alan S. Watt (decvax!ittvax!swatt)

From: Cal Thixton <tj@Okc-Unix> Date: 21 Oct 1982 0:51:21 EST (Thursday) Our department has a new 11/44 with a TU58 cartridge tape drive. They are running RSX or something on it from DEC which knows about it. Does anyone have a driver for this so that Unix can talk to it? If not, I may break down and write one . It appears fairly simple, I hope. Cal Thixton tj at okc-unix p.s. thanks
