Hello everybody, this is the first time I post something to the usenet - hope my question is of any interest: Theres some lines in the manual telling about initialising the ramdisk from the root floppy. I am told that I can only read up to 360 kb to the ramdisk. That's the maximum for single sided disks, ok. But if I have a double sided root disk and give a drive specification of 2,8 (or whatever) instead of hitting return when the system asks, will my ramdisk eventually be initialised with more than 360 kb when there's so much on it? Currently data is read in 18k chunks (4 tracks containing 4.5 kb each). Even when there's noc chance to read more than 360kb at startup, could I increase reading speed as a track now contains 9k on a double sided disk? Has anyone tried this before?
