Hello again. I have still not managed to get minix-386 to the login prompt, even though standard 1.5 works. In the interest of simplicity, I reinstalled the 386 patches on straight-out-of-the-box PH1.5. The problem, as far as I can trace it, has to do with the clock interupt. It isn't happening. The floppy task starts the motor to read the super block, sets the watchdog timer and goes to sleep. The clock task does it's short thing with floppy's message and goes to sleep. At this point the system idles waiting for a clock interrupt that never happens. Oh, and I still occasionally get an nmi, though if it makes it through to the protected mode message it won't happen. I am becoming truly baffled by this turn of events. Ideas? Hints? Off-the-wall suggestions? -------- richard~ richard@stat.tamu.edu st12a@menudo.uh.edu
