Can anyone help me use a Hazeltine 1500 terminal with Berkeley 4.1? I have the termcap set up right, including the "hz" capability. The problem is that the terminal uses the tilde ("~") as the escape character for cursor control, clearscreen etc. Unfortunately, this doesn't go too well with cshell's use of tilde for home directory, as well as any stray tildes that occur in text. I am aware of the stty tilde option that maps all tildes to accents ('`'), which would be fine (even though the 1500 I have displays a solid block graphic character instead of "`"), but vi and other programs (notably "more") do not turn off this stty option. The obvious solution of replacing the brain-damaged piece of **** doesn't work, as I cannot afford that ( this one was given to me ). Any info appreciated, Anil Pal pal@uwvax or harpo!uwvax!pal
