My System: IBM PS/2 50Z - 286, 30MEG HD, 1-3.5 1.44MB DRIVE. PROBLEM A local software store sells MINIX1.5 for $118. Unfortunately, I do not have a 5.25 drive, and they sell ONLY the 5.25 version. Direct order of the 3.5's from PH is $169 (and would take 2.5 weeks). I would much rather not wait, and not pay so much. So, what I need to know is this: If I buy MINIX on 5.25's, and copy it to 3.5's (on a friends PC), will it still work for me? thanx for your time Bruce --------- ### ## Courtesy of Bruce Varney ### # aka -> The Grand Master # asg@sage.cc.purdue.edu ### ##### # PUCC ### # ;-) # # ;'> # ##

Under Minix on a PC with both a 5.25in drive 0 (DOS a:) and a 3.5in drive 1
(DOS b:), use the "cp" command to copy disks 1..4 and "cpdir" to copy
disks 5..17. Preformat your 3.5in disks under DOS as 720K disks.
