PS2/50Z - 286, 30M HD, 1 3.5 1.44M drive
Well, I finally got MINIX transfered from the 5.25's I bought to 3.5's.
Now my probelm is this - It will not run on my Hard Drive.
I tried the
dd if=/dev/hd0 of=/dev/null count=200
thing and got
0+0
0+0
no records written
or something to that effect
I know, I know - recompile the kernel.
I plan on doing that following the instructions in th manual
Problem is - I cannot figure out how to increase the size of my RAM
disk. Specifying it at the (=, r, s, etc) prompt does no good, since it
re-assigns it the size of the root FS disk (130). So how do I increase
the size of the RamDisk? I tried making a copy of the root fs onto a disk
that I had given a 400 block filesystem to. It boots most of the way, but
then never gives me a login prompt. And if I try something like
cp /dev/ram /dev/PS0, it reassigns the filesystem in PS0 to only 130 blocks!
I need to have a larger RAM disk so that I will be able to compile the
Kernal again so that I can build a boot disk capable of handling my
HD controller.
Help me please.
