I would like to know if there is a version of Minix available for the Mac? Maybe someone tried to port the version for Atari on the Mac? Thanks for any hint. am having a lot of trouble installing Minix1.5 on my Macintosh. Configuration: SE/30 with 2 hard drives and System 6.04 I can boot from 00.BOOT and USR1, and with the commands #maccreate 1000 "Hard Disc":file1 #hdopen "Hard Disc":file1 /dev/hd1 #mkfs /dev/hd1 1000 get a partition onto my hard disc. However I cannot seem to be able to create /dev/hd0 on the hard disc. The directions on P67 of the manual are confusing me. What I want to do is to create a bootable system on the hard disc and have a 5Mb partition that will take all of Minix. (binaries) This as far as I understand will mean several zero partitions as well. How do I edit the setup file without having Minix installed? Can anyone provide me with walk-through instructions on how to do the above? i.e. #maccreates #hdopen's #mkfs's and /etc/setup_root ................ Help will be much appreciated. ***************************************************************************** * Regards.
